The Transition
I am driven by an infatuation with color theory and its emotional resonance. I investigate color not merely as a visual element, but as a psychological and experiential force—one capable of evoking memory, shaping perception, and revealing the subtle architecture of human feeling.
Color, to me, behaves like a mirror. It reflects internal states while simultaneously absorbing the viewer’s own experiences. Through layered compositions, shifting transparencies, and dynamic contrasts, I explore how hues interact the way personalities do—sometimes harmonizing, sometimes clashing, always influencing one another. Each painting becomes a site of tension and release, where saturation, temperature, and value echo the complexities of emotional life.
I am deeply interested in how lived experiences—fragmented, overlapping, and nonlinear—shape identity. Just as colors gain meaning in relation to surrounding tones, individuals are formed through relationships, environments, and memory. My work embraces this layered complexity. Paint accumulates, recedes, obscures, and reveals, mimicking the way personal histories sediment within us.
Ultimately, my paintings are not representations of specific events, but embodied experiences. They invite viewers to confront their own emotional landscapes, to see themselves reflected in fields of color, and to recognize the beauty and tension inherent in being human.
